For Girls & Boys ages 8-12

Description:  Students will acquire attitudes which are essential for citizens of democratic pluralist societies, in particular intellectual honesty, open-mindedness, respect for truth, tolerance, acceptance of differences, empathy and civil courage. Students will also develop skills through interactive educational activities in language arts skills including reading informational text, writing, vocabulary acquisition, speaking and listening, and presentation.  For social studies, students will study history from the 1st century C.E. through present day and acquire knowledge of the history and values of diverse civilizations throughout the world.  The teacher and students will work together to forward awareness of both historic and contemporary Muslim women.
