The UPS truck pauses in the street outside. Is it for us? Or our neighbor? Excitement mounts as he stacks a couple heavy boxes onto his trolley and...walks into Daybreak!
The feeling of getting new books is exhilarating, and we have been waiting for this shipment. A number of books have arrived from Pathfinder Press, a local publishing company. These books are different from any others - we have collections of speeches from Nelson Mandela and many from Malcolm X. We have writings from the Balkan Wars. We have books about women and revolutions in Nicaragua and Cuba. We even have a title about the development of capitalism in Africa!
As we unwrap the boxes and shelve the books, I can't help but feel the excitement of discovering the unknown and engaging with passionate voices from our history. Whatever the occasion, it is an exciting day at Daybreak Press!
