Ladies Quran Program at the Rabata Cultural Center - Winter 2025 Prerequisites:
Students should be women above the age of 14+ with knowledge of Arabic letters and haraka t (tashkil).
This course meets two times a week. This is a practical course so live attendance is required.
Assessment:New students can schedule a Quran assessment by emailingclasses@rabata.org.Based on this assessment, students will join at the level that is best for them, and will progress gradually through the levels to reach mastery of recitation of the Holy Quran:
Description:In this class, the instructor will lead students twice a week through a practical course including practice reading the Arabic letters,harakat(short vowels), and mastery of the skill of decoding. This class is for beginners who are learning the Arabic letters and how to connect them, or have learned the Arabic letters and would like to review them.
Students will learn the Nuraniyyah method of decoding Quranic script, learn the types of Arabic sounds and how to pronounce them correctly, and be introduced to the foundations of the science of tajwīd.
These skills will be put into practice in class with the instructor, and students will gain strategies to practice at home. By the end of this course, students should be able to recognize all the Arabic letters and vowel sounds with ease and be able to pronounce most of them correctly while improving their general speed and fluency while reading short words and phrases.

Description:Students will embark on a journey of Quranic mastery at Rabata Cultural Center to improve reading fluency, guided by one of our experienced Quran instructors. By the end of this course, students should be able to read new pages from the Holy Quran with confidence, pronounce most of the Arabic sounds correctly, and self identify errors while improving their general speed and fluency.

Description:Building upon concepts taken in TAJ 201, students will complete the study of the rules oftajwīd,accompanied by an instructor-led recitation of Juz’ Tabarak. This is a two-part course:
Students will gain an understanding of the rules oftajwīd(proper pronunciation of the Holy Quran) during weekly online sessions with the instructor.
Students will be divided into small groups and have 2 additional weekly sessions in which they will work with a recitation teacher. This part of the course will be complete when the student has demonstrated the ability to read the requiredsūrasof the Quran and pronounce each letter correctly.
